Surgeon
Mr Angus Cameron
BDS MBChB FRACDS (OMS)
Southern OMS is owned and operated by Mr Angus Cameron. It is a completely independent clinic and Angus is involved with the care of each and every patient.
He is a graduate of Otago University, acquiring degrees in both Dentistry and Medicine. Advanced surgical training was undertaken throughout New Zealand. Angus then worked as a full-time Consultant Surgeon at Auckland District Health Board.
Finally he took up a fellowship position at the prestigious Royal Melbourne Hospital, sub-specialising in trauma and orthognathic surgery. This has given him a well rounded and unique skill set. From this experience he has been able to develop his special interest in jaw correctional surgery.
Now back home in Christchurch with his family, Angus has setup a state of the art surgical facility. Southern OMS is a patient focused practice that prides itself on providing people with a relaxed and pain-free experience. By offering both advanced sedation and general anaesthetic operating lists, Southern OMS can cater to all patients.
Practice Manager
Anna Biddick
The foundation of Southern OMS is built on the expertise and professionalism of its staff. Anna leads by example, focusing on the individual patient journey and creating a dynamic environment that allows the practice to use the latest technology available.
Working with the New Zealand Dental Association, Anna travels the country educating other health care providers. She is constantly challenging herself and has developed into a very proficient manager and team leader.

Amanda Jones
Amanda is our lead surgical assistant and brings with her almost two decades of experience. Her empathy is an extension of her compassionate nature and she enjoys helping people manage any anxiety they may have. She has a particular interest in orthognathic surgery and coordinates treatment plans for our patients.

Maddie Dew
Maddie joins the team at SOMS with a number of years experience in both general dental and specialist dental practices. Over the years she has developed a special interest in oral surgery and implantology. Maddie has a rural background and brings an efficient and practical skillset with her.

Scarlett Halls
Originally training in UK, Scarlett brings with her almost 15 years of surgical assisting experience. She will oversee our patients who present with pathology, streamlining their experience and talking them through each step. Scarlett will also be involved in the virtual surgical planning of our orthognathic cases as we continue to keep pace with the latest technology.
Surgical Assistant
Ana Wallace
Ana joins SOMS after many years working with various Dental Specialists. She has a sound understanding of both endodontics and prosthodontics. Ana will be involved with the delivery of full arch implant setups as well as general dentoalveolar surgery.
Administration
Sue Lillie
Sue is the welcoming face at Southern OMS front desk. She has an extensive background in both medical and dental administration. Her calm and friendly manner is the perfect complement to the team at Southern OMS.
Anaesthetic Technician and Administrator
Andrea Harwood
Andrea is a welcome addition to the SOMS team. Andrea has spent decades in operating theatres as an anaesthetic technician. This background allows her to support us both clinically and administratively. Her years of experience will allow our patients to feel both safe and confident at SOMS.
