Wisdom Tooth Surgery

The removal of wisdom teeth is one of the most common dental surgical procedures. Although most people have wisdom teeth not everybody needs them removed. At Southern OMS we use all the information and technology available to assess our patients on a case by case basis. If wisdom teeth do require removal we then will offer a range of different options from intra-venous sedation to removal under general anaesthetic. Either way the priority is to ensure our patients have a pain free experience. Book an appointment

During that time many new techniques and have evolved to make titanium dental implants a very predictable treatment option. Apicectomy

After a root canal some teeth need a filling performed at the tip of the root under the gum. This requires a minor oral surgical procedure. The objective of this procedure is to prolong the life of the tooth. At Southern OMS we will perform an in house 3D X-ray to locate the number of roots and their relative positions. This will give the tooth the best chance of longevity. Book an appointment

Exposure of impacted teeth

Occasionally adult teeth get trapped under the gum and need a small procedure to help them erupt into the mouth. There are various techniques we offer at Southern OMS depending on what teeth are involved and what the treatment objectives are. Bone Grafting

When there is a defect in the bone it can be difficult to place dental implants or restore someone’s smile. Grafting may need to be performed to allow enough tissue for the implant to integrate into the body. At Southern OMS grafting material will either be taken from other parts of the mouth or from another source entirely. Book an appointment
