Dr Pip Greer is a passionate oral medicine specialist. Her training required degrees in both Dentistry and Medicine. These studies were undertaken at Otago University. Following this specialist training was undertaken in Oral Medicine at the same institution. She now complements the team at Southern OMS, enabling patients to access her wealth of knowledge and expertise in the broad field of Oral Medicine.
Pip practices the full scope of Oral Medicine. Ranging from surgical interventions to medical management of various head and neck conditions. She is skilled in the administration of Botox, utilising it as a tool in the management of jaw joint disorders and facial pain. She has developed strict protocols for the management of mucosal diseases and auto-immune conditions.
Pip also holds a visiting specialist role in Palmerston North, further extending her reach and impact in the field. She also regularly presents at National and International meetings. This allows her to collaborate with professionals from different regions, exchange knowledge, and contribute to the advancement of oral medicine across multiple locations.
Pip currently resides in Ōtautahi (Christchurch) with her partner, son and daughter. Beyond her professional pursuits, Pip has various interests outside of work. She enjoys cycling, tramping, and reading, which provide a balance to her busy schedule and contribute to her overall well-being.
With her dedication to patient care, research contributions in oral cancer, clinical expertise in addressing facial pain, and active engagement in various personal interests, Pip is a well-rounded professional who continues to make a significant impact in her profession.

Joanne Cheung
Jo joins Southern OMS fresh out of general practice. She has a passion for surgical assisting and is keen to continue developing her skill set in the management of the sedated patient.
She has an honest and empathetic approach to all patients she looks after. Jo will be working alongside Dr Pip Greer in the Oral Medicine clinics. She has been a fantastic addition to the team and we are very lucky to have her working with us at Southern OMS.
